Guild Meetings-

Topic: Mystery Embellishment

 

Cast one using a provisional cast on, Use a multiple of 5 stitches (25, 30, 35)  Make a  stockinette stitch swatch about 6 inches square.  Bind off. 

Bring a constrast yarn for the embellishment.  You can, if you are lazy, just use a regular cast on, and

leave the swatch on your needles.

Charity Knitting

Hats for The Homeless! Pastor Ray has a goal of providing 7000 hats this season!  How many can we do? 

Bring at least one to the next two meetings!  Win a prize for the most hats!

Pastor RAY provides the hats to the OC Rescue Mission and the LA County Rescue

mission for the homeless.  Adult and Child size hats or scarves are good!

Stitches in the Snow! Lake Arrowhead Here We Come....

 

January 13-16, 2010.  We've added a day at popular request. They have reduced the original rate quoted so my quote of $550 total is wrong. It will be $495 for three nights, four days, nine meals and our room set up perfectly for us with all the refreshments and firewood we could ever want! We will carpool so don't worry if you don't like to drive up to the mountains.

 

We are going to show Knitting Daily DVD's and probably one of EZ's Knitting Workshop series. Let me know if you have any additional ideas or preferences. Some of us will be continuing our Master Hand Knitting program.

 

Willa needs a final count by Sept 12th, and you do not have to be a guild member to attend. The deposit due is $250 and the balance will be due in early January.

Stitches West for 2010-

Next year’s event will be held February 25-28^th in Santa Clara, CA. Although the “famous” instructors sell out fast, there are a lot of other great classes you can take to learn all kinds of new techniques and knitting education. Not to mention the Marketplace where there are rows and rows of incredible yarns, books, and new gadgets.
